PRESENTATION

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 9th World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology, which will be held in the marvellous setting of Hong Kong under the Presidency of Professor P.C. Ho. The decision to hold this annual Congress alternately in Europe and in other continents of the world was proved to be a success by the 1999 Congress held in Buenos Aires. This Congress was impressive both in terms of the number of participants and in the high scientific standard of the presentations.
The choice of Asia and Hong Kong for the 9th Congress demonstrates the notable progress that our field is making in this part of the world. Against the different cultural and medical backgrounds the questions of contraception, fertility and menopause acquire a particular significance. Traditional Chinese medicine will consequently be discussed in the course of this Congress together with the most recent research results on hormonal therapies.
The Congress will be divided between plenary sessions dealing with hormones in gynecological endocrinology and a series of symposia on the main gynecological syndromes and the latest therapeutical strategies.
I am convinced that it will be another great scientific and social event for all of us and I warmly welcome you to the 9th World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology in the wonderful surroundings of Hong Kong

ISGE President

On behalf of the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, it is my great pleasure to invite you to Hong Kong to attend the 9th World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology. This is the first time that the World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology is held in Asia. Our College is honoured to have the opportunity of co-hosting this important Congress with the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology. Hong Kong is a dynamic and exciting city where the East meets the West. We have excellent convention facilities and extensive experience in organising major international meetings. With our strategic location in the centre of Asia, it will be very convenient for delegates to visit other places in Asia before or after the Congress. We will have an excellent scientific program. In particular, we intend to organise some scientific sessions on the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Gynecological Endocrinology.
I look forward to welcoming you to the 9th World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology in Hong Kong.

Pat Chung Ho
President of Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
